To facilitate your support for comprehensive immigration reform and specifically your support for The STRIVE Act of 2007 that was unveiled last week, we are posting a sample letter that you can use to send to your Representatives and Senators. We are also posting websites that you can utilize to send those letters by e-mail.  You may cut and paste the letter below and then click on one of the links provided to send directly to your Representatives and Senators. These next few weeks will be crucial for garnering support and seeing a proposal pass this year.  Please let your Representatives and Senators know that you support comprehensive immigration reform in the U.S.

When I heard of the Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy or “STRIVE Act” of 2007 which was unveiled last week, I became hopeful that the U.S. Congress will finally act to address this important issue in our country. Through this letter I wish to express my support for The STRIVE Act of 2007 and to encourage you to act quickly to pass this legislation that will provide a long-term solution for our broken immigration system.

Specifically, I support the new H-2C temporary worker visa for new workers, an increase in quotas for family-based and employment-based immigrants, a new “conditional nonimmigrant status” for undocumented workers who qualify, the DREAM Act of 2007, the AgJOBS Bill of 2007, an earned legalization program, and an U.S. citizenship program.

I therefore urge you to work with your colleagues in Congress to pass this bill that will provide comprehensive immigration reform and thereby address the needs of the business community in the U.S. and of the immigrant community while also ensuring that our nation is secure. The passage of this legislation in 2007 is crucial to the preservation of our core American values, including those of due process and civil rights.
